In 2025, I got an email from Eric (a viewer of my YouTube channel) who wanted some feedback on an Ink Removal Soap that he was making. I’ll admit that I was a bit skeptical that his soap would be any better than any typical hand soap, but I decided to try it anyway, and I was immediately impressed. When I’m making inks, I tend to get a good amount of ink on my hands. After my normal hand soap gave me poor results, I tried the bar of ink removal soap and the ink on my hands vanished! I’ve now been using the soap for about a year, and hope that I never have to be without it while I’m making ink. Since it worked well for me, I thought that some of you might want to give it a shot, and I asked Eric to make us a box of it.
Eric is a small-batch soap maker under the name Dirty Jersey Soap Co (you can buy this soap and many others at his site), and he specializes in all-natural soaps. These bars contain crushed walnut shells for a gritty texture in addition to the mixture of traditional soap ingredients that Eric has came up with that has made this soap so effective at removing ink from my hands.
