After only buying one ink in Nagoya, I bought two of these gorgeous bottles online. These cut glass bottles are from @mitasanshodo and are reason enough to buy the ink, but the ink is equally good: wonderfully fragrant and silky smooth to write with... and the Sumi ink has amazing bronze/gold sheen! I've been told that the "Mouse" designation refers to dull or earthy-toned colors, dating from a period in history when commoners were not allowed to wear bright colors. My first Sailor vase bottle! I've been in Tokyo for 10 days, and I've purchased 17 bottles of ink, so I'm sure you'll all agree that I'm displaying a remarkable amount of restraint and self control. Today I visited Shosai-kan in Shibuya (?), and it's one of the most gorgeous shops that I've seen yet... and lo and behold, there were TWO bottles of ink in the old style Sailor vases. I may have taken the last one in the blue color, and I almost took both. I wish I had.... but I had already bought 6 bottles today. I'll go back for it tomorrow morning. They have a couple of exclusive TAG inks and I got one of them, too. Anyway, the people working there were wonderful, with enough English to get the job done and very helpful and friendly.
